    A better-fitted listening room

    Surround Sound Installation

Surround sound is a room-and-equipment fit, not just a channel number. We work with an existing television or media room to plan speaker locations, wiring, receiver connections, and a handoff that matches the equipment and the agreed scope.

For homeowners improving an existing living room, family room, or media room without commissioning a theater build.

    01

Check the room and existing equipment

We review seating, display location, room access, available wiring paths, receiver inputs, speaker compatibility, and where a subwoofer can reasonably sit. Existing equipment is assessed before any plan depends on retaining it.

    • Layouts may use 5.1, 7.1, or compatible Dolby Atmos arrangements when the room and equipment support them.
    • Speaker count and placement depend on the chosen format, room layout, and existing conditions.
    • Concealed wiring options depend on wall, ceiling, attic, or crawlspace access.
    02

Connect the system as a complete signal path

The agreed installation may include speaker wiring, speakers, a subwoofer connection, receiver setup, and configuration with the existing television or source devices. Compatibility must be checked for the specific components and signal formats.

    • Confirm receiver channel support, speaker impedance, connections, and source formats.
    • Keep equipment and cable routes accessible where practical.
    • TV control and audio-return behavior depend on the television, receiver, settings, and connected devices.
    03

Calibrate and hand off what was agreed

Where the proposal includes it, we configure receiver assignments and run the available calibration process for the room, then review basic operation. Calibration can tune supported settings; it cannot remove every room or equipment limitation.

    • Testing is limited to the equipment and steps listed in the agreement.
    • Furniture, acoustic treatment, construction, electrical changes, and finish repair are separate unless written into scope.
    • This service is for existing-room AV installation—not theater construction or soundproofing.

    Project boundaries

A consultation does not assume structural work, electrical work, room remodeling, sound isolation, or a particular equipment package. Those responsibilities must be separately reviewed and agreed with the appropriate trades.
